Adult Volunteer Program Information

How to become an adult volunteer:

Pick up an application package from The Volunteer & Community Resources office, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or print the forms below.

We request a minimal six-month commitment. Some positions require a 12-month commitment based on the level of complexity of the position.

The process to be considered for a Volunteer placement is:

  1. Complete the Application Form, provide  2 References  from people other than family members or friends and a 250 Word Description as to why you’d like to volunteer. You may wish to include a current resume.

  2. Once you have completed your application call our offices to book an interview. At the interview we will determine if there is a position available that benefits both you and the hospital.

  3. Successful candidates must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Screening through York Regional Police at a cost of $15. You must also attend a 2-hour orientation, agree to a health screening exam and leave a $25 refundable deposit for a uniform, photo ID badge and parking pass.

We look forward to having you join our team of over 500 volunteers!
