Vaughan Hospital Approved for Next Stage of Planning
VAUGHAN – Member of Provincial Parliament Greg Sorbara today announced that York Central Hospital (YCH) has received approval to begin Stage Two Planning for the building of the Vaughan Hospital.
"I am delighted to be able to confirm that the McGuinty Government has approved the next phase of planning for the Vaughan Hospital," said Greg Sorbara. "Momentum for this project has been building steadily and, with the province, region, city and York Central Hospital working closely together, I know we will deliver the kind of first-class public hospital that our community deserves."Read more

Hospital Volunteer Association Celebrates
50 Years of Giving Back
RICHMOND HILL, ON – On January 30, 1962 in the midst of a blinding snow storm community
minded residents of the town of Richmond Hill, met at the Lions Hall to discuss what they could
offer to help the then-future hospital and its patients. That night, the Volunteer Auxiliary (now
called Volunteer Association) was born along with a lifelong commitment to giving for many
community residents. Fifty years later, volunteers continue to play a vital role at York Central
Hospital. Today we are hosting a special ceremony to celebrate 50 years of volunteering at York
Central Hospital.

These funds will enable the hospital to increase the community's access to Intensive Care, Chemotherapy and Medical Day Care, Mental Health and Continuing Care Services by delivering increased patient care in the new capacity created through its major redevelopment project in 2009.
