Behaviour Management Services (BMS) is a part of the Mental Health Program of York Central Hospital. Established in 1977, BMS provides behavioural services to individuals living in York Region or Simcoe County who have a developmental disability with a significant cognitive delay or are living with the effects of an acquired brain injury.
Making a Referral to Behaviour Management Services of York and Simcoe
Individuals can make their own referral, either by telephone or in writing. Referrals are also accepted from family members, community agencies, teachers, physicians and other involved professionals, with the individual’s consent. A referral package will then be sent out and a meeting will be scheduled to gather more information and determine the most appropriate services. This will also provide an opportunity for staff to provide information on the services and resources available.
