York Central Hospital takes every precaution to protect against fi res, and our staff practice fi re safety procedures regularly. Fire exits are clearly marked throughout the hospital. When you hear the fi re alarm, please remain in or return to your room. We will inform you should any action become necessary. During an alarm, elevators return automatically to the main fl oor so travel between fl oors is only possible via the stairwells.
