The Department of Paediatrics at York Central Hospital provides medical care for newborns and children under 18 years of age. We are an integral part of the York Central Hospital health care team by supporting other Hospital departments including Labour and Delivery, Emergency and Surgery.

York Central Hospital is proud to have a Level II Nursery, which provides specialized care to premature and critically ill newborns.

York Central's Paediatric Department has been designated a community teaching hospital for Paediatric training for University of Toronto medical students.

Responding to the rapid growth of the community, we are expanding and improving our paediatric services to include a short stay unit as well as an observation unit. The Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment plan, and the Department of Paediatrics will be redesigned to offer all paediatric services in a new child-friendly environment. We look forward to meeting the challenge of delivering high quality paediatric care for the children of York Region.
