We are committed to service that is characterized by care, compassion and
concern for the whole person. Beyond physical care, this includes emotional and
spiritual needs.
- Chaplains: We have a full-time Chaplain, a Research Chaplain, as well as
Spiritual Care Volunteers available in some patient areas. You may request to
speak with one at any time. During the day, call the Spiritual Care Coordinator
at ext. 7562 or the secretary at ext. 7729. After hours, ask your nurse or call
the switchboard by dialing “0” and ask for the on-call Chaplain, the on-call
Roman Catholic Priest or the on-Call Rabbi.
- Faith Group Representatives: We respect everyone’s rights to their beliefs
and religious affi liations. To be referred to a representative of a particular
religion or faith group, please call the Spiritual Care Coordinator at ext. 7562,
or the secretary at ext. 7729. Representatives are available from various
faiths including the Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islamic and Jewish
communities. You can also ask the Spiritual Care Offi ce to contact someone
from your particular faith group.
- Worship Services: Interfaith services are performed throughout the year for
numerous holidays and observances, as well as memorials. Please call the
Spiritual Care Offi ce for further information on specifi c services.
- Ecumenical Service, every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
- Roman Catholic Mass, every Friday at 10:50 a.m.
Location: 4th Floor Dining/Activity Room, Centre for Continuing Care and
Rehabilitation.
- Sacraments: Arrangements can be made for Holy Communion of Christians
in accordance with their own denominational tradition. Holy Communion
is brought to Roman Catholics who request it, throughout the week. The
Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Sick are available upon
request for Roman Catholics. Please inform your nurse should you require the
Sacraments or please call the Spiritual Care Coordinator at ext. 7562, or the
secretary at ext. 7729.
- Songs of Faith (Ecumenical Service), every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Dining
Room on the 3rd fl oor of the Centre for Continuing Care and Rehabilitation
