Welcome to the department of medicine homepage. Our department has gone through a period of tremendous growth and restructuring which has improved our efficiency and our delivery of care to our inpatient program. We have had a 25% growth in our inpatient volumes and we have taken care of approximately 5000 inpatients in the past year. Our dedicated staff consisting of nurses, allied health professionals and clinical practice leaders has strived to deliver the best possible care to our inpatients.

Since mid-2005, we have added 14 new physicians including the development and implementation of a hospitalist program consisting of GP's and general internists for the inpatient program and the pre-operative and outpatient medical clinics. Our newest subspeciality members will service the needs of the community in neurology, rheumataology, respirology, gastroenterology, nephrology and cardiology.
