Andrea asked friends and family to help her raise money for the John & Josie Watson Breast Health Centre at York Central Hospital
For the second year in a year, Andrea Tang has shown she has a heart of gold.
The 17-year-old recently celebrated her birthday and in lieu of gifts, asked friends and family to help her raise money for the John & Josie Watson Breast Health Centre at York Central Hospital. Andrea started donating her birthday proceeds to the hospital last year to show her support for the care her mother received at the hospital.
This year, Andrea donated $800 to the hospital. This, combined with last year's donation totals $1,500.
Happy birthday Andrea, and thank you for caring to make a difference!

James Peek Memorial Golf Tournament |

"If we can prevent even one family from suffering the tragedy we experienced, we will have been successful,”
said Randy Peek.
After the loss of their beloved son and brother, James Patrick Peek, at the age of 17, the Peek Family was determined to raise awareness of mental health issues and help to remove the stigma often associated with suicide and depression.
Each year on June 30, James' birthday, the Peek Family, together with family and friends, celebrate James’ life by hosting a golf tournament and dinner to raise awareness in the community and fund initiatives to improve Mental Health Services at York Central Hospital. In ten years, they have raised more than $200,000 and generously funded a Mental Health Library, an in-patient dining room, the James Peek Memorial Lectureship Series and the James Peek Mental Health Outpatient Services. |

When Sarah Pellegrini was thinking about bridal favours for guests attending her wedding shower she decided that she wanted to give a unique gift that would make each guest feel special. To honour her guests, Sarah chose to help improve health care in our community by making a Tribute Gift to York Central Hospital Foundation. Each guest was given a personalized note that included this message: “I hope this gift, directed to the Breast Health Centre, will help others feel as fortunate as I do today.”
